gotta stay flexible so i don't get trapped in bubbles of my own vocab, which includes being aware of the thought-forms of various microcultures. What do D&D fans think Wanderhome is like. what do Lancer fans think Blades is like. does Chuubo's get any thoughts outside of its immediate fandom or is it more of an event horizon situation

I wouldn't describe myself as a Chuubo's fan, but I think it's a fascinating thing, and I see a lot of its design lineage in Yazeeba's Bed and Breakfast.
I'll be real, I don't think the average D&D 5e fan is even passingly aware of other versions of D&D1.

Both in the sense of older editions of actual brand-name D&D, and in the sense of directly D&D-derived games like Pathfinder.
average, maybe not! but at least the extra online ones have heard of a few alternatives by now
