Thank you! ๐
There's a few different ideas orbiting the name that make me like it so much (as if the name didn't appear in my head months before I knew I was trans). Firstly it's a spin on the names taken from virtues. A direct response and rejection to the good christian values that have shaped u.s. society. As for why I went with Avarice instead of say, Wrath or Lust: it's mostly a reminder to myself. Coming to terms with my womanhood came with a second revelation for free: I have a massive mental block when it comes to doing anything for myself. I won't go into it, but I grew up to be a doormat with zero ambitions. Avarice is more than desire; it is the need to possess your desires. To take something for yourself with zero regard for if it was properly earned. And since transphobes are convinced I'm trying to steal womanhood* from its "rightful owners," it's even more fitting.
For the record, Riley-5 is a very cute name. It suits you perfectly.
*If anything, I'm trying to increase the number of women in the world.
