The thing about Laios is that he's actively choosing what he thinks is the best decision most of the time, but a lot of people around him assume he's operating off of instinct or just crazy. And if they could get through to Laios, he'd see things their way. But he knows what you're saying, he just thinks you're wrong. That's why everybody is headcanoning him as autistic.
