This is poorly publicized, but:

  • Go to your profile
  • 'Edit profile'
  • On the left sidebar, 'edit profile links' lets you add links to your profile. You can set links as only visible to people you follow among some other privacy options.

This lets you have contact info available to mutuals (well, people you follow, anyway) without needing to share that information publicly to everyone.

I think not a lot of people are using this feature! But you can put in, for example, your Discord username.

okay so my partner was having vision problems

and instead of going to an optometrist he made up a bunch of calibrated charts to measure his own prescription (which is not a simple one) like "no, I'm an engineer, I know optics, I can figure this out" and just ordered direct from Zennioptical and went around for like a year with these self-calculated glasses while I kept saying will you please go to someone who actually has a degree in this stuff instead of doing this extremely engineer thing

and today he finally went to a real optometrist

who said that he got the prescription right

I'm always kinda baffled that OBS-Studio doesn't have the browser source in Version 27, despite every google source saying "Oh we incorporated it in version 25"

And every search forum thread I can find is in 2021/2022 saying "Where is it, I don't see it anywhere" And then the threads are locked.

Just linux things, the documentation is usually dogshit terrible and nobody answers questions, and then people wonder "Why isn't anyone using the software on this platform?"
