yeah, because the tld all by itself sounds like a joke. "biz" is a very informal way to talk about a business or industry and has been for a long time. "are you in the biz?" it's inherently a casual, diminutive way to refer to business.
just from the sound of it, you infer that anyone using it doesn't understand seriousness of tone, and doesn't care if you think their business is serious.
No no no, you see, in this context it's actually pronounced "bi z". Presumably it's "zed" instead of "zee" because that's funnier.
