Before Cohost added iframely I manually generated thumbnails for posts that had YouTube links in them. I guess maybe I need to go back to that.
I have seen this on: Chrome on Windows 10 (logged in to YouTube, ublock origin), Chrome on Windows 10 (not logged in to YouTube, no ublock origin), Firefox on Ubuntu (logged in to YouTube, ublock origin)
support forum has an issue for this: https://help.antisoftware.club/support/discussions/topics/62000185770
Yeah, I don't know if this is a cohost problem or an iframely update. But what I'm seeing is that iframely is serving cohost a 403 when it's trying to fetch the iframely-proxied thumbnail image.
If they did, it's likely unintentional. They have the means to force you to watch you on YouTube instead of through an embed somewhere else, and all the motivation to do so in light of the adblockalypse. Yet at least for me, the only thing that's broken is displaying the thumbnail. I can still watch the videos just fine.
For me, iframely thumbnails for all webpages have been broken on Cohost for over a week but I hadn't seen anyone mention it.
