Omg so i’m not the only one who’s had weird issues with some DVDs: I bought THREE copies of Yoyo girl cop and all wouldnt work on any DVD player: despite being newly sealed! DVD rippers broke down and couldn’t finish it either, only getting to the DVD menu.

I’m still bewildered why that disc just would not work as it was sealed and spotless yet just kept returning as corrupted data… it was from 2006 and eventually i just gave up. Wonder if this movie was made around the same time and something about budget movies then just broke down dvds as they aged.

No, no. This is an HD DVD. Warner Bros. HD DVDs are notorious for going bad because the factory they were made at messed up, the data on them starts going bad because of issues when they were pressed. And it only affects discs made in Mexico.

I haven't found a single US region disc that is still fully functional. Most don't even start, some play back parts of the movie and the game, but there's no way of getting a fully playable, fully rippable US disc anymore. but I'm gonna keep trying.

Also, your problem might just be with your drives. I have some DVDs that won't work on my LG Bluray drive, but work fine in a cheapo Amazon returns laptop drive.
