Like half of us were fursonae, though we never really had any "old" ones. (Although our first one did evolve into two different ones neither of which super resemble the original.) Sometimes via the headmate to fursona pipeline, because questioning is super confusing. Which also kinda leads to all of us being a bit fursona coded, Kharaya-do guesses.

more of a common thing than you'd think !!! helps to kinda think about it from the other end -- that old fursona came from somewhere and was made by someone, and even if you don't personally identify with it any more there mustve been a point or a person in which you did! we're all different people at different points in our lives and sometimes those different people start coexisting and you can dust off old fursona designs that those different people made and start using them as new faces !
that makes a ton of sense.. whatever I once was I am now Julia's buddy as her old sona. it's less like the sona came to life and more like I just assumed being her.
