Doctor Who is just British tokusatsu. It even authentically has lots of scenes shot in disused quarries.
oh my god you're right. I forgot about all the quarries in and around Cardiff. a greenscreen and cgi can make any quarry an alien planet, sometimes you don't even need the greenscreen
also both doctor who and kamen rider had to replace the main actor but still kept the series going and didn't air a new tv season during the 90s
