actually.. this is why I think ADHD influencers are fucking shitty when they say hyperfocus is like a super power. no it fucking isn't, it's taking it too far and you end up feeling like shit after hours of working nonstop.

I have a kitchen timer. One way I use it is setting 20-30 minute reminders when I am doing an activity I know I will get absorbed in, but I don't exactly treat it like a pomodoro. (If I call it a pomodoro my brain won't let me do it anymore) I just take it as a "I am acknowledging the passage of time" and give myself a chance to check in with myself. I am not the best at this. Sometimes I forget the timer exists, or I willfully ignore it if I am really enjoying what I am doing. But the times it helps, it helps.
