I'm so fucking tired

but I'm typing this from my rebuilt PC and everything went sort of smoothly! I did try to put down the CPU cooler with the shiny bit facing upwards and got thermal paste on the fan (genius moment) , and when firing it up I forgot one connector on the motherboard and I straight up missed where to connect one of the case coolers but it's all fixed now! except the stock intel cooler fan, I think the thermal paste fucked that up, oops. In my defense I was already tired hours ago and not paying full attention but whatever CPU coolers can be replaced further down the line if need be, I don't need to do that though, temps seem fine (in the 20-30C range) doing normal internet browsing.

I'm gonna order isopropyl alcohol off brazilian ebay and hopefully clean that up, at least the mistake isn't obvious when it's spinning this fast

tbh it looks like I customized the stock cooler, it's just a white blur now, so despite feeling very dumb at the mistake it's not at all bad during use

a little isopropyl can be used to clean any excess thermal paste off of the fan, also good for when you wanna swap out coolers in the future, btw. Intel stock coolers don't do a bad job of it, and typically they have a list of what board/cpu/socket combos work with whatever cooler you're eyeballing down the road. Still! good job!, 20-30C is pretty good for intels... AMD's tend to run a little warmer 'parrently.

if it makes you feel better: i ran this case for nine years without realising there were lights in the front of the case.... i found out when i swapped out the motherboard.

I had regular alcohol but no isopropyl, regular alcohol didn't help much with cleaning. I need to look into ordering some, not sure if that's sold in stores.

that's pretty reassuring to hear, thank you!! I'll keep monitoring the temperatures, turns out the asus motherboard offered me some monitoring software too in addition to what I already had. I don't think I'll forget anytime soon that I need something for a LGA 1700 socket, researching then installing everything yourself really makes the information stick. I'm gonna try and pay everything off before ordering any new parts though coolers hopefully aren't expensive like buying a whole new motherboard and CPU, plus RAM.

I think the coolers that came with my case also have some RGB function but I have no idea how to connect that to power nor do I want to lol, sometimes we really do find out secrets in our setups.
