it's funny that bethesda went from getting fast travel in a game perfectly right in Morrowind with its many taxi services, then never again. starfield is literally unplayable without fast travel, as in you can't not fast travel to get around. it's fun doing that sort of playthrough in Fallout 4 cause you get to see more of the world, same for New Vegas, but in Starfield you're either on a planet or not and there's no getting anywhere without fast travel or grav jumping (fast travel with lore explanations)

I think this is the biggest misstep Starfield has, imo. There's not "too much fast travel\loadscreens because there isn't seamless extra\terrestrial travel", it's "too much fast travel\loadscreens because every location is its own cell" (imo at least).

yeah I totally agree. so much of starfield is just staring at loading screens because you need to because of the game's structure. you can even add more loading screens and pointless wait if you try to do it organically, say boarding your ship in New Atlantis, taking off manually, grav jumping to Cheyenne, landing in Akila City, exiting the ship manually, or you click on the map and fast travel. no matter what you do it's inevitable
