I have a strong dislike for RTX tech demos because they just do not give a shit about the original feel of a game at all. The newest victim is Portal, sure it's all shiny and they probably upscaled those textures but that doesn't mean it's prettier, I'd say it's actually super distracting and one of the biggest pillars of the design of portal was to not make anything distracting, every puzzle element is very clearly visible and marked, now there's lights and transluscent effects everywhere.
I think this screenshot from the store page shows that off well. Your attention isn't aimed at identifying the limits of the play area and the puzzle elements, it's looking at all the visual eye candy, and that's a problem Portal avoided completely with its clinical clean art style and design.
