oh no tamriel rebuilt has added too much to morrowind which messes with (presumably intentionally) with the original guild questline progressions because I assume reputation thresholds for advancing in ranks gor bumped up a little. I found this out after "speedrunning" the entirety of vanilla morrowind's thieves guild questline since I have 300 speed, mark/recall and intervention spells and I know where to go and what to do in all of them and how to navigate vvardenfell's taxi services, plus I skipped the reading since I've read them all before.
anyways if you have TR installed and you do Sugar Lips Habasi's quests, Big Helende's quests, Angoth the Jeweler's quests, all the Bal Molagmer quests for Jim Stacey, and in this playthrough I even finished all work for the Andothren chapter of the guild, Jim Stacey wasn't willing to finish the fight against the Cammona Tong despite us being in the middle of executing the plan to bribe or convince the fighters guild stewards to help turn againsr Sjoring Hard Heart. I asked for jobs and he just says "lol no come back later when you're a Mastermind" so I ask about advancement and he gives me the line that's indicating you need more reputation. kinda annoying! I thought the original questline wouldn't be affected but it is in a silly immersion breaking way. I guess the pressing matters and fight against the other rival guild that's already murdered thieves can wait. I think I'll do the Helnim and Firewatch stuff again, that one was fun but not as involved as Old Ebonheart and hope that's gonna be enough reputation to become master thief. I don't even need to do that but.. idk I felt like it.
