๐ซ Fallout show ep 1 wasn't bad. it was weirdly horny and trying to be funny about cousin fucking, then hilarious with the stupid hyper violence, then it all sort of devolved into setting up the main guys and setting the tone, which wasn't bad per se, but it's like they injected so much money into making bethesda Fallout prestive TV.
Much like Fallout 4, it's not bad, it's just Fallout mutated into mostly spectable, bloody violence and iconography. Remember the Brotherhood? They're even weirder, less militaristic and more religious now! there's an Enclave guy around ooh what's up with him, then I guess Walton Goggins really is the most interesting part of the whole setup, an ex movie star who was alive pre-war, been more or less alive for over 200 years though I guess they're canonizing that ghouls are half zombies who don't need to eat or drink and are fine spending 30 years literally buried under the ground like a zombie because... idk we need to make it simple for people who never played the games to understand? whatever. we (fans who think that's stupid as shit) have lost that battle since the kid in the fridge.
Kind of a mess but I'd watch EP2 just for Goggins, don't care about Lucy going after her fucking dad (it would've been so funny if they got Liam Neeson to play the dad) also not very interested in the enclave guy being around doing shady things and I think Dane got done fucking dirty because they're nonbinary, which is cool to see but they're just a tool to get motherfucking Maximus branded like cattle and out there into the wider world. His master's gonna die and he's gonna have to don the armor, it's probably gonna be very by the numbers but entertaining? Everything we've heard about this show before giving in and watching ep1 just now makes sense. It's a super faithful adaptation of the source material, except the source material is Fallout 4 and 76.
