this morning turned very weird and unusual all of a sudden. I think we were unknowingly assisted in doing a little theft.
Riley ordered drinks on the night of the 27th, they never arrived after over 2 hours of waiting so naturally I asked for a refund, which they approved really quickly through the "ifood" app. okay, so we sleep through the 28th and wake up late at night, I order drinks through another app, "zé delivery", pay through PIX, the order arrives no issue that same night, so come this morning and they phone to our apartment talking about a delivery for me and somehow, it's that order that never arrived on the 27th that I had already been refunded for, and I genuinely have no fucking idea what went wrong between then and now.
They'd already refunded my purchase, I thought it had never arrived, it was something like 82 reais which is ~16 USD, which is not nothing, although it feels like a large amount of money in brazilian reais because number bigger. So either the delivery guy left the bags with drinks here, fucked off and never updated the order in the app as "delivered", which feels likely since we'd been waiting for over two hours, then the guy who received it did not call us for some reason, either there was no identifying information like apartment number and a name, or the delivery guy didn't give him this information, or I don't know. what's even weirder is everything Riley ordered arrived neatly, but there really was no paper identifying who these bags were meant for, so I'm unsure if they were attached at some point but then thrown out by the guy who received it, which if so, fucking why?? or the store simply forgot to include that but that doesn't feel likely, plus the delivery guy would've known the apartment number to give out, so I can't suss out what happened besides the guy who received it on our behalf not doing his job right either due to incompetence or negligence?
so we have some ill-gotten red bull, pepsi, pringles and ruffles now. I don't know how to feel now except bad that I did a small crime without knowledge I was doing it.
