okay Fallout London just managed to out-do Bethesda's gimmick in Fallout 4 of historical Things™ given new meaning and re-imagined post apocalypse.
turns out one of the most central locations in Fallout London is a settlement, and it's none other than London Bridge. so they're making a historical callback to old London Bridge which for a long time used to be the only way to cross the Thames and on it were many buildings, it was its own little town, on a bridge.
current London bridge isn't where the old one used to stand but I really like this idea of post apocalypse calling back to history in a constructive way like that, literally. very neat stuff from team Folon, they're making me recall real world London history while playing their videogame, and I'm happy about that because when it clicked why London Bridge was made into a settlement I was very satisfied.
I really recommend Jay Foreman's video on the history of the London Bridge for anyone who's interested, it's a really good watch and is the only reason I learned about this history in the first place.
