the way american cartoons look gives me the opposite of inspiration. despite anime broadly "looking the same" as people tend to say, they don't look like shit. You can see stylistic differences in how the eyes are painted, face shapes, a motif going on with the hairstyles, etc.
American cartoons are all looking like family guy (or worse, just look at big mouth). I look at something like star trek lower decks and that style convinces me to never want to watch it, despite being a big star trek fan.
