it sure as shit tastes like blue. color's very pretty too if you're not concerned about unnaturally colored drinks. I think this one went down smoother than the blue powerade drink, I enjoyed it, but it got me thinking about how they didn't even bother translating "berry blue" into anything in portuguese, it's just called "berry blue" and it's always made me curious what non english speaking brazilians think of english just sort of.. well colonizing the language here like that.

it's been a while since we stopped saying "Liquidação" and companies started putting large "Sale" signs on stores, but slowly more and more stuff is just english words that people are forced to try and pronounce, regardless if they know english or not. idk it's weird. not a bad thing I don't think, we have tons of portuguese speakers so the language isn't at any real risk of anything, it's just interesting seeing capital provoke tangible noticeable effects on the course of how a language changes and evolves, this goes for many others around the world too.

so I was listening to the hbomberguy plagiarism vid again while playing starfield and it still hits me how a joke he makes towards the end of the video landed better for me in russian (I don't speak russian but tried studying it briefly) than in portuguese (my native language).

I think he must've googled "how to say bitches in brazilian portuguese" and picked a word nobody ever says in normal conversation? I'm very alienated from brazilian culture but I swear never have I heard someone say "cadelas" to mean bitches, people normally say cadelas to refer to female dogs, like that's the more common usage. this isn't a real criticism, I just thought it was funny how off it felt to hear a british man try and pronounce "cadelas", he emphasized the wrong syllable (which is characteristic of english speakers mispronuncing portuguese, which is fine) so it sounded like cadelas which really felt off in that way where it's hard to put into words but you just know when your native language is being mispronounced badly.

I think the better word would've been "vadias" but I can see how that could be seen as more offensive, so I dunno, I appreciate the attempt at the joke regardless. when he said "us сукаs" that landed better cause it's the funny meme russian word. all in all I'm glad he spent his time on the important stuff like investigating the plagiarism and stuff and not looking up brazilian portuguese profanities and how to pronounce them lol.
