almost 600 hours dumped into starfield and sometimes the procedural generation can still surprise, when it fucks up. it's pleasant when it's working as intended but this, this feels interesting to look at, you don't see glitches so often, and it made me stop in my space dino genocide spree (grinding for XP) to appreciate the sight of a "chunk" that failed to load, this is just like when minecraft fucks up on online mode, except this is just how the world in starfield looks, it's a permanent location in this universe in this planet (Gamma Ternion II I think?), I could build a base in there. I'll just appreciate having found this glitch in the matrix and taking the screenshots, I like it when things going wrong produces interesting, evocative visuals.

I think it was Rana III.. I genuinely don't remember anymore even though it was just yesterday. would be nice if screenshots had the name of the place where you took them, but regardless it felt striking to me stopping for a minute to realize this is just what fallout 4 was going for. I think if you're being cynical it's fair to say that starfield is "space fallout 4" because the gameplay is wholly derivative of that, but in this moment specifically it stuck out to me that I was in a biome that felt like the fallout 4 wasteland too.
