holy shit Noroi: The Curse is still such a phenomenal movie. I have to sit down a minute to calm down after watching it.

going in I still remembered vaguely what the beats were but they still hit so well. I think this movie would make anyone fall in love with j-horror or found footage movies because god the storytelling is so compelling. the "holy shit" moments are set up so well that it's hard not to be enthralled in the moment, you never quite know what's happenning but having a vague idea of it is plenty, especially because when the supernatural hits it hits way harder because these were normal people caught in the middle of some horrible nightmare.

really good stuff, watch Noroi, everyone recommends it for a reason, it holds up super well on rewatches too as I've just found out.

damn nobody has uploaded Ring (1998 J-Horror movie) to the Internet Archive. I thought we had this saved on an external drive but not really, we only had the American remake which isn't terrible, but the original is so much better if only because it's aged better due to not having horrendous early 2000s CGI and dogshit color grading. I'm chasing down some magnets, if anyone knows of one plz let me know it'd be a great help.

I was struggling to figure out why this old torrent I had of House (1977) didn't have working subtitles, then I found out the "subtitles" it had were just an ad for the torrent site it came from and not actual subtitles for the movie, so I downloaded a subtitle track off the internet and that worked!

Alternatively, I could've literally searched House 1977 on the Internet Archive because somebody uploaded a rip of the Criterion Collection blu-ray on there with a working subtitle track. so this has been a fun little journey. Anyways if you haven't watched House (1977) it's literally right there and is one of the most well regarded horror movies of all time.
