Char's Daily Life (シャアの日常, Sha no Nichijou)

this feels like those last eps of evangelion where they're living in a bizarro wholesome alternate universe. finally people can live out their fantasy of Char Aznable being buddies (or lovers) with Garma Zabi. This feels bizarre on the surface but it's kind of adorable from all the illustrations I've seen.

Spent a little bit of time tonight after finishing some furry art to finish this one up proper! I'm pretty happy with how well it cleaned up honestly. I had to use several different images as references to understand the chest/head shape and I redrew the shoulder pads to be bigger, plus of course a lot of time was spent cleaning up the head.

the nu gundam's kinda hard to get down, especially the crown, but I think I mostly managed it, so I'm happy overall, it felt like a worthwhile thing to have spent time on. -Ashley

infamous episode, I get the vibe Tomino asked them to not air this one in America cause it was just kinda bad. the plot, the fights, that cursed yassified Zaku.

I genuinely don't get why they made a movie out of this episode but I guess it must be better than the original which feels very skippable in the grand scheme of 0079. It's an interesting episode for how not fun it is but otherwise.... why did they make it into a movie.

watched a video talking about the public perception of Gundam ZZ and it's making me realize it is truly the gundam show of all time. big land of contrasts.

Gundam 0079 is the original, really great, all time classic. Zeta Gundam feels like the original but even better, depressing as hell, then ZZ is often whacky as shit, until shit gets real later on and they start performing war crimes and people start dying, then they still pull of a happy ending despite it all.

I really think ZZ is overall excellent but it gets dragged down by the Moon Moon episodes being too goofy and a waste of time, even though they're technically important, for Mondo especially, and the episodes where the gang is roaming the sahara going to Dakar where they keep fighting evil black people, but despite those two points the show's so good. good memories of most of it, especially the eps with the war crimes performed in Dublin. poor Dublin.
