the verbosity was typical of our experience back then (we probably paid more attention to software with docs like that, tbh, so we may be overweighting it)

the tone is slightly more sexually explicit than most stuff we remember, but only slightly

anyway! yeah! things sure have changed a lot, huh

okay the Irenes who know what to say about this are around now

it's true that internet culture back in the day actively refused concepts of respectability to a degree that is no longer true

it is also possible to refuse those concepts today as an individual, and we think it'd probably be a better world if more people did

we uh... certainly we don't entirely refuse them in our own life, we kinda try to spend our weird budget where it really matters to us, but we do like to think we haven't entirely given in
