Did anyone involved in the development of Doom (2) besides Romero and Tom Hall come out of it relatively normal? (And Tom Hall might've been spared the curse because he was basically shut out pretty early on due to disagreements on the role of narrative in video game development)

I've known Carmack to be scum for a while now; I picked up on the fact that he coyly endorsed "whıte nationalist" propagandist John Darbyshire, and being an irritating cleverpants, I quizzed him on Twitter about it. And when I got a typical racist runaround (you know how they love to turn everything into an absurdist little logic game) I knew I was in the presence of a rogue.

I might have provoked him. I've been sticking knives into Carmack periodically, for good or ill. ~Chara

i despise how they say eich was "taking private civic action based upon his quiet christian faith" when he was donating money to politicians that specifically wanted to ban gay marriage in cali. banning gay marriage doesn't sound very private nor quiet to me, it's trying to affect the publics life
