Hi! We're a fairly diverse plural system with various origins and interests! ADHD, autism, likely BPD. Uhm... Yeah, gonna work on this a bit more soon?

one of the fascinating things about this book to me is just how much the cops interviewed are willing to say on the record, especially one particular cop who is also running for governor in Washington rn lol. like how on earth does any cop now realize the history of WHY no one uses hoses in the US

just gonna paste this here for extra context on mr firehose cop's ideas

As the demonstrators left the church, police warned them to stop and turn back, "or you'll get wet".[61] When they continued, Connor ordered the city's fire hoses, set at a level that would peel bark off a tree or separate bricks from mortar, to be turned on the children. Boys' shirts were ripped off, and girls were pushed over the tops of cars by the force of the water. When the students crouched or fell, the blasts of water rolled them down the asphalt streets and concrete sidewalks.[76] Connor allowed white spectators to push forward, shouting, "Let those people come forward, sergeant. I want 'em to see the dogs work."

yeah, i figured for anyone in the US the issue with hoses didn’t even need to be addressed so i just bypassed it lol, but i am honestly flabbergasted that someone could say that in fuckin 1999

so ineffective we had to drench portions of seattle and portland in it like they were terraforming, apparently. i hate cops so fucking much, they so far gone into their adversarial power hole that they dont see humans as people if theyre not on the "right side" of the line, no matter the circumstances.
