thinkin bout how fatphobia is so pervasive in society that even folks i can usually expect the bare minimum from will peddle fatphobic tropes in a heartbeat without even thinking about it

watched an episode of a show ("Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur") the other day that was about, like, how you shouldn't be mean to people on the internet, and naturally they portrayed the bully as fat and ugly

aka the most likely demographic to be the victim of bullying

real letdown after a glowing first episode, tbh

this goes 5x for over here btw. every time i read a story where the only fat character is Slob Cop, The Fat Pig, I sigh and wonder when we're going to be serious about resisting bigotry when we can't even get past conventional beauty standards foisted on us by the weight loss industry, one of the deadliest faces of capitalism

I'm thinking about how, despite Fuga: Melodies of Steel selling poorly, the developers made a sequel because they passionately believed in their work, and then they were like, "let's launch it on the 11th of May, nothing happening in videogames on that weekend".

It's the development equivalent of stepping on a rake, recovering with an impressive gymnastics routine, and then landing on the same rake.

Flowering Heart is on Youtube... but there are no subtitles. Not even same language ones, which means that deaf people, people with auditory processing issues, and more are just... excluded from watching. x.x;
