I seem 2 have accrued some new follows since I last logged in, can any of you help me figure out what yugioh series to watch? I’ve read a dozen reddit threads but desire a wider array of opinions.
My favorite anime are character drama/melodrama heavies like Oniisama e, Utena, LoGH etc.
I love the first series but i've watched it a hundred times. 5D’s seems to be most ppls answer but I watched most of it as a kid and ideally would prefer to watch one of the newer series- but if 5D’s really can’t be beat I could be convinced to watch it with fresh eyes.
Zexal seems to get praise for its drama regularly but I can not get a good read AT ALL on how people feel about Vrains or Arc-V.
As a bonus, if u have yugioh ships please lmk what the series with the good ships are- part of me wants to draw card game gays.

(Lying) I love that every Shonen fight nowadays moves like it's on Adderall and has the vibrancy of a best buy display television, as if made to look good on a youtube short. And is completely covered with obnoxious pusling, neon "battle auras", is key framed by some unfortunate 20-something getting paid in bread slices and job experience- all to make something less cool than this held shot that happens a couple episodes into One Piece

Have just completed OVA, film 1, and film 2 of Patlabor over the last week or two and really enjoyed it! Can any cohosters tell me if there's anything past Patlabor 2 worth watching? I felt quite like it was a perfect, though very melancholic, send-off to the whole thing. I'd think doing anything with that specific cast of characters past 2 would feel like wheel-spinning, but it looks like much of the newer stuff is disconnected(?)
