If you're new and you're struggling to get a foothold on how to find posts or new accounts to follow, I only have one suggestion: use the tag system. Both in your posts and in searches! Bookmark some tags! Make a feed of stuff you care about! Bookmark tags like #artistsoncohost to get a more targeted selection of art on your feed! (Since generalized tags like 'art' can obviously catch things that aren't just specifically media posts.)
Why is the site designed this way? @chirasul made a good post explaining why in context of users migrating from Tumblr. I won't tl;dr, go read the post! It's well written and you should read the whole thing to actually take in that information.
Want a Cohost 'app'? It's not on the app store but you can functionally have that REALLY easily!
