Fenyu Raskus, known as Agent Tenfold, was not one to have good days. She had always been a perfectionist, and combining that with her short temper meant she was prone to outbursts when she made enough smaller mistakes, regardless of how impactful they were.

Assigned to patrol the coastline in the Fleetfoot R2 - A revision made to improve armor and weaponry in light of the pilot of R1's grisly fate - she had a feeling the thing was going to be cursed. But she didn't expect what happened next.

A frame rocketed in from across the horizon. It was hard to make out on the cameras due to its sheer speed and a lack of lighting on the exterior. Tenfold tried to stop it, but without so much as a comm interjection it took out the R2's leg and continued on its way. What stuck out, however, was that there was no sign of it anywhere outside of the cam footage and the damage itself. She definitely saw it, it was real, but the intrusion didn't lead to anything. It seemed to just vanish off the radar.

Additional surveillance was put near Tenfold's station, and the knees repaired and she was redeployed. Again, the mystery frame showed up. Again, she tried to stop it. She lasted longer this time, but this time the enemy pilot broke both of the R2's arms.

The third time, with a new set of arms, the encounter played out identically. But this time, a shot to the thrusters severely limited her options to pursue.

Every few weeks this went on. Every time the Fleetfoot was repaired, she was sent back out. She realized over time the enemy wasn't just moving through... They were performing the exact same sequence every time. Like a rehearsed choreography. And every time she got further in the script, the pilot shot her down.

And every time, Fenyu was furious. She KNEW this fucker was toying with her. She had never had a verbal outburst, but it was telling that one of the encounters ended with her hand in a splint simply from punching her console.

But without question, she went back. And that was because of something she hadn't told the crew.

The cameras couldn't make out the frame, yes. But she could, during one encounter that took off the Fleetfoot's head. She opened her cockpit just enough to get visual.

It was the Fleetfoot R1. It had been hastily patched up, but it still had the claw marks on the limbs that hung limp unless they were being used.

Engines that were partially melted from overexertion, but still kept it aloft.

A single, barely functional camera lens on its head that seemed to meet her gaze.

And an empty, blood-stained cockpit and ruined control deck exposed to open air.

She had to know what was happening. She had to keep going no matter how many times she failed to stop it because she KNEW she was getting closer.
