damn now im just in a "think about sona lore" kinda day. specifically the "hyper mode" stuff
basically, the "hyper mode" is something that can be activated via the battle armor (or with enough energy in the body, so if she's Fucking Huge and has other means of energy funnelling inside of her, because it requires a LOT). ponytail goes out and turns into a bright green, glowing colour, the armor's inner frame glows brightly, and her eyes go like. waaaaay brighter green. the hair also flows gently, instead of being stationary
basically, it's a means to REALLY push power out. speed and power are exponentially increased - think of something like the shining gundam's super mode, or something adjacent. it's used when things really need to get serious, when the circumstances don't allow for the normal approach and she simply needs to use all she can to protect people
it can be activated in dire circumstances, and only when she feels it's needed, because it puts a TON of strain on all systems of the body, despite the "limitless" aspect to many parts of her. especially the armor, it gets fucked up bad, and often requires repairs/being out of commission for some time due to how much intensity it requires.
another tier of that however, is something unbeknownst to herself, which is a hyper mode that seems to be activated automatically without any input. due to how complex the OS and body's systems are, there's so many complexities that something like that is bound to pop up, but its RARE. really really rare
it seems to activate in true emotional pinch moments, almost like a snap of rage, when circumstances are truly dire and the system needs to go into overdrive. in this state, it's essentially a "berserker" mode of sorts. much more aggressive and dead set on closing things out. she doesn't become completely mindless or reckless, but it certainly creates a change in processing that means she acts much more intensely than before, with way harsher strikes and attacks that have full power behind them
instead of a green, the inner frame, hair, and eyes all glow a soft rainbow colour, with the hair and inner panels becoming completely white as they emit this softly changing rainbow pattern.
this seems to push things even further than REGULAR hyper mode, with single blows potentially destroying entire landscapes and can put lillie herself out of commission for some time as she needs to do repairs to the regular body, let alone the armor. she still doesn't fully understand it, and it's only really happened the one time -- and even then it hasn't been seen as super necessary, so it's often just left unexplored because of how obscure it is. still, it DOES exist.
