the basis for how the LIL-E unit came to be comes from research that allowed for the discovery of using arcane magic to "bind" a soul to an object, essentially allowing one to pilot it. with the proper work, one COULD theoretically transfer themselves to a robotic body with this in mind... and that's what made it happen
through many different means, the main body was built and designed by me, and my wife programmed all the main systems and OS. very much a team effort! this included getting the white hole reactor amongst other things.
the main goal with the body, outside of it just being a way cooler means of transition, was to help protect people as well, since such a robotic host could be used to protect people in many ways. the systems were designed with this in mind, as was the extra armor
finally, upon completion of the main body, and also ensuring that safety was taken (mostly in preservation), the "transfer" was done and made complete, with essentially putting a human mind and soul into a robotic body. full on robotic conversion! (the previous body was stored away safely, kept in a spot for emergencies, and also as a means of preservation)
lots of other tidbits but that's the key stuff. basically a means to allow one to protect others, even if it is through vastly unconventional means
