the use case here is SFW. i see many things in regular use, but some are restricted to 1–2 countries (e.g. Cash App), service fees and reliability vary, and idk which ones have fewer issues with arbitrarily withholding funds. PayPal has sounded bad for the latter, yet is widely used — are they OK outside of NSFW contexts, or does everyone kind of have to have it because it operates the most globally, or…?

domestically, Canadians use Interac e‐Transfers, which are near‐instant and have no fees for normal transfers. while this would be convenient to offer for other Canadians to make donations, it necessitates exposing a bit of personal information, which can be undesirable in online contexts (plus sticking to just one option is preferable here). however, its ubiquity in all other aspects of daily life here means we can end up having almost no experience using even PayPal, let alone anything else…
