“bud” and “buddy”

are these gender‐neutral terms or are they male‐coded. like do you ever call a girl “buddy”

very interesting division between the 2 places i ran this poll. admittedly the sample sizes are puny, but on cohost 5 of 6 votes were for gender-neutral (1 was for male-coded), whereas nobody voted for that on Mastodon (3 for male-coded, 2 for “idk”.) so one conclusion to be made from the data seems to be “it depends on the crowd”.
