Cheating in network play!
Save the game in multi-player mode
Quit to DOS
Load a suitable hex editor such as Norton Disk Edit
Edit the save game file (save?.net)
Modify the offset as follows:
0002E 00
Rename the save game from save?.net to save?.sav
Load WarCraft
Load the appropriate save game.
Hit and type SALLY SHEARS and hit again
You now know exactly where your opponents village is!
Now all you have to do is find a way to stop the game half-way through. :-)
In theory you should be able to convert normal 1-player games to 2-player games by reversing this tactic but I haven't tried it.
No idea how workable this method was, but the idea of a guide on GameFAQs having instructions on how to cheat in an online multiplayer game is wild to me. Truly the past was a different age.
Also, this FAQ answers other sorts of questions like "what other games has Blizzard made?" and "does Blizzard have a website yet?" which I find to be quite cute.
