personal account of a 30-something weirdo masquerading as a "ZZT company"

In my previous post about the ZZT community hosted jam Oktrollberfest, I noted that the deadline of the jam had been pushed back 5 extra days. Amazingly, this opened the door to six extra submissions, literally doubling the number of entries and making this the healthiest Oktrollberfest since the first one in 2020.

I used the extra time to push out a minor update to my game, which polishes a few things, adds a small bit from a collaborator who couldn't meet the original deadline, and adds some dumb jokes that will probably be missed by 90% of players because of how I chose to include them --- but you're not here to listen to me.

You're hear to learn about all the brand spankin' new Oktrollberfest entries!

Spook City

This is a Halloween-themed tabletop game. It may not be trolly, but it may be fun, but I also have no idea how I'm going to test this, which may be the real troll all along.

😎 throws 🍎 onto πŸ€“

Some kind of simple shmup made by a friend of the organizer.

The Mewtonia Expedition

PogeSoft's second submission to this jam, and the return of his beloved character Idaho Gino. I played this last night. It's pretty cute, unless you cheat, in which case it's pretty spicy.

Chicken Shock

A twisty yarn about doing a simple favor for your friend. I playtested this yesterday. It's quite cute and devious.

ZZTorture

I'm not sure why a ZZT game requires a 4 megabyte download or an installer, but this had better be good. (Unfortunately, I was unable to get the installer to work, which might be the real troll all along.) If anybody is able to get this working, let me know.

EDIT: okay this was secretly 4 games in one. neat!

Kitten Hallway 3

The LOVELOVEKITTY family strikes again! This time it's with the latest, most devious, and -- dare I say -- most hellish game in the Kitten Hallway series (idk I haven't played it yet).

Anyhow, I plan on streaming as many of these games as I can get away with sometime in the next couple of weeks.
