so recently metroid construction, the premier metroid romhacking site, held a contest where entrants had two months to create a romhack themed around the prompt of "starbase". eleven entries total, all of which are more than worth checking out! results are still pending, voting will be held tournament bracket style, live on metconst's official twitch page on august 31st.
i didn't submit anything myself, but i did help out with one entry, and i did stream all of them (VOD 1, VOD 2) on my own twitch page -- and i chose four standout hacks to create fully detailed maps of. these aren't necessarily the best hacks from the contest, but more the ones which instilled the deepest motivation within me.
