rather annoyed that so many YT uploads of Game Boy music just default to 3 minutes per song, irrespective of the length of the loop, all because nobody in the 90s/00s chiptune community created a .GBS-derived format with per-track metadata

i think the state of the art for GBS metadata is winamp .m3u playlists which, like, (1) lol and (2) player support for that feels even worse than NSFEs

This reminds me that I need to find an alternative to WACUP because I can't even get it to properly read track names for SPC files (I may be stupid, but I don't think this is my fault)

i'm still using fb2k, but i heard bad things about the maintainers / community and, blugh.

droidsound-e on android is a similar "someone took an open source project and made it closed source" situation but, what can you do. with everyone using streaming services these days it feels like nobody really cares
