personal account of a 30-something weirdo masquerading as a "ZZT company"

The contest I submitted my Super Metroid hack to ended two months ago, but the admins on MetConst were so busy with stuff like "randomizer races" that the voting didn't happen until today. The voting was done live on Twitch using their poll feature with a tournament bracket setup. All together, the polls took less than an hour. This was definitely a way to just get it over with ASAP a foolproof way of gauging the overall opinion of the site's userbase.

I should probably post a write-up here on Cohost about all the contest hacks (there's 11 of them, and one of them is even called Eleven!). because this was the best contest Metroid Construction has ever hosted by a pretty decent margin. (I even catalogued every previous contest to verify that assertion.) Any of the four semifinalists would have handily won almost any previous contest, and it's not even close.

(Previously I had won the "best graphics" sub-category in some ZZT jams, hence the sheepish asterisk I just got rid of.)
