Not just the government. In Norway, literally everyone knows exactly how much you owe in taxes, how much you make and what you own.
Well, everyone that wants to know, that is. Unless they changed things since I left, anyone can access anyone's tax returns at any time.
That's super weird and dangerous to my Brazilian brain, but hey, that country works, so whatever floats their boat I guess.
More importantly, what is going on in the last panel for the US, and why haven't I seen that event in the Olympics?
Thankfully mine are simple (single, no kids, don't own a house) and H&R Block has a free web thing I can use but it is a total mess for most people. It shouldn't be so confusing that you have to pay someone to do your taxes to make sure it's done right.
Conversely, let me have my fun filling out all the forms and making number go up.
