Finished 428: Shibuya Scramble
Very enjoyable but a bit long in the tooth and getting all the endings (good and bad) is miserable. Just did the main story and moved on.

Dropped Little Orpheus
I could even finish the first level. It's so basic and nothing. 30 mins in and I dipped.

Dropped Rollerdrome
I liked it, quite a bit. Just wasn't loving it, so when I started getting destroyed in later sections, dropped

Playing the Castlevania Advance collection. This should be an easy few games to like!

32 games left in the PS5 backlog.

That’s no dank at all!

Also: is Shibuya Scramble a VN or an adventure game?

Also: My great shame in life is that I’ve never massively enjoyed (please dont nuggie me) the Igavania games (eep).
I enjoyed Symphony of the Night enough, but I’ve got CASTLEVANIA! on gba and Dawn of Sorrow on DS and I always get bored part way through. - not that that has any baring on anything whatsoever… Hope you enjoy them! :)

The dank will resume tomorrow (it's a doozy I promise)

428 is a VN, a bit like the Zero Escape games but more dead ends, no puzzles and more reading text you already read because the skip function is very bad.

I love the IgaVania's and I actually can't stand the older Castlevanias. They feel so basic in comparison. I even enjoyed the Lords of Shadow games more than the old style vanias.

Oh dear I fear we are at opposite ends of the Vania-spectrum. Castlevania 1 & 4 are two games I love dearly - as well as Chronicles which is a full on ps1 sicko remake of CV1. I do remember really enjoying SotN too so maybe I should give Iga more goes. Also thank you I’ll steer clear of Shibuya Scramble :)

I always found the Castlevania GBA games a bit uneven.
CotM is kinda basic but otherwise solid (apart from the convoluted magic system).
HoD is a lot more polished but very easy (especially once you get one item combo; I think it's Wind + Cross?), and padded in the latter half.
And AoS is great, no notes.

The castlevania advance collection is great. I know everyone's favorite is Aria of Sorrow--its probably the best--but I've always had a soft spot for Harmony of Dissonance... probably because I had it back in the day and I've probably completed it 3-4 times, not including once in the collection on switch.
