The Olai Trio were three younger folks from the town of Olai who had become famous in history for rising from their humble beginnings to unite the kingdoms of Kendesai after catching wind of a conspiracy created by seven of the demonic realm's most despotic leaders.
Armerane Anarca was the first to catch wind of the ordeal. Raised as a Summoner by his mother, his first demon happened to be a friendly creature simply named "Detz". However friendly it was, however, it was desperate to get news of the plot it had learned of to someone, and the Anarca family knew that they had to do something. Reporting this to the town guard, they found... little success due to it being sourced to a demon, let alone a family that had been undergoing a period of passive feud with the family of the current captain. At least, from the main figureheads of the Kensida family. When it came to the children, who had been privy to the report, Lunella knew that something serious had to be happening, and couldn't bring herself to stand by.
She made plans in secret to meet with Armerane, convince him to leave with her, and travel the country to find anyone who would listen. While Armerane was of two minds regarding the idea of being directly involved, he ultimately concluded that this was too important to leave for any longer than they have, and agreed to head out with her after telling his mother what would be happening. Little did they know, Lunella's brother Korinja - always the 'family favorite' who was keen on becoming captain - had followed her to their meeting place. Despite the stern look in his eyes, his usual uptight demeanor, and him buying into the family feud ardently and trying to protect his sister from Armerane... he wanted to go with them. Not just to protect their town or earn glory, but to ensure his sister was safe (And that Armerane didn't screw it up, in his words at the time.)
With their goals set, and Armerane's mother providing them what money could spare in addition to Armerane's earnings as an apprentice blacksmith and a set of rations to make it to the next major city, they snuck out the next night, and headed for Umbros.
