Hi! If you haven't seen the Prototype N Halloween Special, do check it out. I did a handful of art for it, mostly on the concept side - but I did make the art used in the logo. I thought it'd be fun to isolate Nadine here... feel free to put her in various situations.

More after the cut!

Original concept for Selena (Clara is there too). Concept of the gang's costumes.
One of the new characters introduced in DitG is Clara's younger sister Selena. She's the brains of the operation - being the one who drives their van and develops the stuff they sell. She's definitely going to appear in the main game, but since her introduction to audiences would've been in this special, we decided to create the somewhat convoluted explanation of "we forgot our costumes" -> "somehow we're in costume in the nightmare world". The whole alternate world idea was actually inspired by The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, so it made sense for our heroines to get transformed there.

I came up with the idea for Clara's Bride of Frankenstein costume pretty much immediately, although it took some iteration to figure out how to change her hair in a way that was still recognizably Clara. For Selena, I knew I wanted to keep the cat ears... And I figured the mummy wraps could be analogous to the stripes on her socks. As for the socks themselves - we wanted to let people know she's trans without stating it outright, since we figured it'd feel somewhat stilted for Clara to mention that to Nadine in a shop screen conversation or something.

Nadine is there for scale - @arrietty designed her outfit with some input from me. We ended up making the scale of the characters different in the actual game, though.

Concept art of Jack o'Diamonds, villain of the game. The man of the hour, the one, the only... Jack o'Diamonds!

Arri wanted "a pumpkin magician" so I got to sketching. We workshopped a bunch of possible attacks, some leaning towards "Halloween" and some leaning towards "stage magic". In the final game, it's unclear whether he's a machine or organic, but we actually considered having him be a mech piloted by Selena at first! That would've been a weird twist.

For the mechanical arms, I wanted something puppet-like (I actually was thinking about Mr. Hat from Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney). We also considered making the different arms themed after various Halloween monsters, but ultimately went against it. I think the magician gloves work better for consistency. I'm glad the "pick a card" attack made it in, though!

I also drew and animated the ending, but you're gonna have to see that for yourself... I'm not gonna spoil it!
