Before the gods sent a true emissary from their own ranks, they would send messengers in their stead, of all shapes and sizes, but rarely ever looking organic. They were clusters of stone, ice, fire, whatsoever represented the element of the messenger itself. It was assumed this one was no different, resembling a group of crystalline cubes that hung beneath a glowing green halo made of metal. It wasn't until people began looking up at it did they really understand what it was.
Invidael is known by many monikers; "The Hateful Ophanim", "The Eye of Death", "The Dreamless One", "Greater General of Envy"... but the one that describes it most of all is "the Inciter." Acting as an indoctrinator alongside two other demons, its goal was to turn the people of the world against each other and sow chaos amidst society. With its eye - hidden in plain sight within its halo, it is able to see into the hearts of those who stand beneath it and prey on their insecurities and what they wish they had. It coddles them, while at the same time twisting the knife deeper and deeper until it hits bone. Then, once their mind is broken down and they learn to trust Invidael as a voice on their shoulder, it uses its uniquely trained ability; Cogitatiomancy. Using his victims' own minds against them, it can replace thoughts with similar, but far more beneficial ones, turning a repressed impulse to lash out into an active desire to murder.
Ever since Invidael showed up, the Divine Fragments made sure that true representatives of their will were unmistakable by stepping in directly. Invidael would never say it takes pride in being such a turning point. It wouldn't say it, but feels the one bit of true glee in its life knowing it.
