As far as I've seen there's been no real concrete evidence to any of the claims about Nicalis mistreating Amaya outside of just people thinking it would match Nicalis' other, well known shittiness. Tyrone Rodriguez, Nicalis' founder is even under Kero Blaster's special thanks. And as someone who's actually played Kero Blaster its so very clearly about corporate job culture (which Amaya has talked plenty about his old shitty desk jobs) and far, far removed from any sort of indie-dev-getting-fucked-over-by-a-publisher kind of story. Its just a thing people have been saying for years that's spun out of control cause its believable on the surface.

Here's a video and thread going over this stuff and I haven't heard of any updates since to show anything to the contrary. As always, it doesn't absolve Nicalis/Tyrone's actual, well-documented and backed up wrongdoings. It would make the most sense that they would treat at least him nicely, not to mention, if any of this was true it'd be huge news and have something to back it up. At the least you'd expect Amaya to do more than just put incredibly vague story connections (into a game that was even in the works to have Nicalis publish it at some point).
