I still resent school for teaching basically everyone on the planet that if you can't write an entire essay in one night you're a failure
I meet adults who think they are useless and have low attention spans because they think that a project (usually a hobby) must be completed in one go otherwise they can't do it. and I know exactly where they learned it from. when I was in school I was repeatedly "taken aside" by teachers and told I was a failure who would never be able to do anything ever because I was so bad at homework (which often took the form of writing an essay about an unfamiliar subject in one night) what they should've been teaching us was how to manage our time so we can do these things on a reasonable schedule
