Tonight I learned that Dungeon Keeper was planned to have a "print" command for certain text dialogues.
Not "print" as in "show this text when a condition is met", literally printing messages off your printer or fax machine.
The main function was to tease the final boss more openly by occasionally sending you messages confirming he was aware of you and he was ready to throw down.
...Buuuuut they cut it because the playtesters genuinely got freaked out by it and thought someone was sending them death threats.
The 90s were something else.
