We played in the setting of the last D&D campaign I ran (more on that here!). The knife was a PC who ended the campaign as ruler of a city, and we played as members of the Fey Court of Shadows scheming to depose him. We framed him for the murder of the princess of the River Court, inadvertently starting a war between the two courts, then spent years ruling the city and stabbing each other in the back until the Knife's return. Highlights include:

  • My character building an extremely expensive pallace that mortals citizens could see but never find (until the revolutionaries found a way in and deposed me).
  • The cheating fey duellist finally being cornered with no more tricks up his sleeves.
  • The extremely FaTT-named character Steven Hegemony, my character's servant who had real Greg from Succession energy.
  • My friend's evil wizard character who stole everyone's blood, stole Steven Hegemony from me to be his apprentice and seduced my wife. He ended the game being poisoned his own concoctions and turned into a slug.
  • The Knife returning in disguise with a fey husband who he truly loved, but who left him when his true identity was revealed.
  • The Shadow fey Prince, my character's friend and the wife of the murdered princess, who may or may not have set up the whole thing but ended up executing my character for the murder.
