I used to be quite terrified of spiders but now they only frighten me if they are particularly large and particularly near me. At work yesterday I saw a little guy scuttle across the counter and since it fulfilled neither of those qualities I just put a cup over it until I had time to escort it from the premises. A coworker saw me doing this and said I was a hero, a customer sitting outside on the patio took notice of what I was doing and said I was doing the right thing, immediately talking about how good they are for the environment and how we shouldn't kill them. As he spoke, I watched a crow saunter over to where I'd dropped off the spider and immediately snap it up with its beak in one swift motion without even breaking stride.
