I have a specific memory from summer 2003 of going to a corner store near my friend's house and there was a vending machine that would give you one Pokémon card for a quarter and I got a Skitty card — at first I was sure it was the first one but the second is jogging my brain too, and I know I had both at some point anyway.
I felt like I had some point to try and make here about savouring the little things but I lost it. I guess this is just a Skitty nostalgia post
Skitty was my first favorite Pokemon!
I used to always make sure to catch one and power it up without evolving it, despite liking Delcatty too.
And in PMD Explorers of Darkness I was a male Skitty and whenever I replayed it made sure to stay one.
I've been watching Swiftalu speedrun Blue Rescue Team lately and apparently Skitty is optimal in that run b/c chaining Tail Whip -> Double Slap is super strong. I support busted Skbity
