Over the past coupla years I've been playin thru the Yakuza series and even though I'm only on 4 right now I can already fully see how this eventually evolves into a turn-based system, I'm experienced enough with all the different tricks that they can pull with the bosses that it's practically at that point already, where I just wait out their BS and smack them when I'm supposed to and otherwise just meander about/hold block until it's my turn again. Removing even that execution barrier makes a lot of sense, although I hope for the modern games that keep real-time combat they start upping the ante a bit.
